Στις 29 Δεκέμβρη, 15 Πορτογάλοι φασίστες σκότωσαν τον 21 ετών φοιτητή και μουσικό Giovani Rodrigues. Τη ρατσιστική αυτή δολοφονία ακολούθησαν διαδηλώσεις σε όλη τη χώρα με αίτημα να αποδοθεί δικαιοσύνη.
